“She had everything set,” the foster parent said. That changed last week when the family learned the scholarship funding was not available. “She was not going to put herself in debt at 18,” the foster parent said. The family began contacting the university, state agencies and other organizations to look for assistance while waiting for answers. “Since Wednesday, I’ve probably made more phone calls than the rest of my entire life combined trying to figure this out,” she said.
