['Memoscar Lasuba']
Eye Radio
Peter Ogum, a Collo language (LOD) translator who provided translation services to Sudan Radio Service (SRS), now Eye Radio, since the signing of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA), has passed away.
Ogum died this morning after being admitted to Juba Teaching Hospital, where he underwent surgery that was reported to have been successful.
Ogum began providing translation services to SRS during the CPA period and continued supporting the station after South Sudan’s independence in 2011.
Over the years, he provided translation services for news content and public service announcements (PSAs) into the Chollo language whenever needed.
His work helped make information accessible to Chollo-speaking audiences and supported the station’s efforts to provide public service content in local languages.
