Peterhead player-coach Niall McGinn has left the club take up a new role as full-time coach with League of Ireland club Derry City. McGinn, who also worked as a coach in Aberdeen’s youth academy, took on coaching duties at Balmoral Stadium in the summer. “While we are naturally disappointed to see him leave, this is a wonderful opportunity for Niall to continue developing his coaching career in a full-time role at a club he knows well. “Everyone at Peterhead FC would like to thank Niall for his contribution and wish him every success on his return to Derry City.” McGinn, who played for Derry in the 2008-09 season, will assist interim first-team boss Mark Connolly and the academy at Derry City.
