Gaku Tada's latest Deep Paint scene created in Blender looks like a children's book illustration brought to life, and it's a reminder that distinctive artistic style matters more than ever.
That's why I couldn't stop watching Gaku Tada's latest animation.
Created in Blender using Deep Paint, it's a peaceful little woodland scene that looks more like a moving picture book than a 3D render.
It's gorgeous, and it made me think about how much more interesting stylised 3D has become over the last few years, whether it's the Blender-made Flow, Disney's pursuit of originality in Hexed, or Pixar's hand-painted Gatto.
That's what Tada has nailed here with the latest Deep Paint animation.
