The University of Cape Town (UCT) and the Western Cape Government (WCG) have announced that the pair have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), focused on building public section capacity, skills development, innovation, and research collaboration.
Western Cape’s Triple Helix collaboration has been in effect for many years, with this UCT article mentioning it as far back as 2009.
As for Vision 2050, it’s an ambitious project covering social, energy and water, economic, technology and ecological infrastructures, as well as local government.
While Vision 2050 looks to the future, this new MoU between the two parties will continue a successful partnership that has already had success with students in the past.
In the near future, the public can expect UCT and the WCG to continue with joint initiatives and measurements of success that it should bring.
