By this time next month, Google Assistant will be no longer feature on Android smartphones and tablets. This, according to reports this week, which note that the big tech firm is shifting its on-device digital assistant to be powered solely by Google Gemini. “Google Assistant is going away on mobile devices,” the email explains, also noting that Google Assistant is “being discontinued”. The email adds that, “Gemini – our next-generation AI-powered assistant – is now the assistant experience on Android.” Here, vehicles that have Google Assistant built natively into the infotainment system, will still have access to it after 4th September, the company confirms.
