U.S. Rep. Debbie Dingell, D-Mich., and Republican Heather Smiley secured their parties’ respective nominations Tuesday after running unopposed in Michigan’s 6th Congressional District primary elections. Congressional District 6 includes all of Washtenaw County, parts of Wayne and Oakland counties and the city of Milan in Monroe County. She previously won the 2024 republican nomination before losing to Dingell in the general election. Smiley has campaigned for the elimination of excessive government spending, election ballot security and enforcement of unbiased education. Dingell, Smiley and third-party nominees will appear on the ballot for Michigan’s 6th Congressional District in the Nov. 3 general election.
