In the Republican race, incumbent Rep. John McGuire, who ousted Bob Good in a primary two years ago, defeated Melanie Lucero. In the 1st District, Republican incumbent Rob Wittman will face Democrat Shannon Taylor, the commonwealth’s attorney for Henrico County. In the 2nd District, Republican incumbent Jen Kiggans will face Democrat Elaine Luria. In the 3rd District, Democrat Bobby Scott is seeking reelection against Republican Edwin Rivera, while in the 4th District incumbent Democrat Jennifer McClellan will face Republican Robert Murray. In the 8th District, Democrat Don Beyer is seeking a seventh term and rolled to victory in a crowded field of five candidates.
