More than half Yemen’s population were already facing hunger, but continued disruption or deterioration could trigger a fresh humanitarian shock, aid agencies warn.
“For over a decade, children in Yemen have been blighted by one crisis after another as global attention has receded,” said Rishana Haniffa, Save the Children Yemen Country Director.
It is expected to drive droughts, floods and food insecurity across some of the world's most vulnerable regions over the coming months.
Millions are at risk of crisis-level food insecurity globally due to the ongoing war, the World Food Programme warned previously, with disrupted fertiliser shipments from the Gulf affecting crop production in fragile countries like Sudan.
