Guitar Works on Main Street is closing

Guitar Works, a nearly half-century old Main Street store, will close permanently on Sept. 1. Guitar Works opened at 739 Main St. in 1979, eventually moving to its current location in 2000. Straker said the Guitar Works Reverb Store will remain open for the first two weeks of September. “It really is a big loss for Evanston and Main Street in particular,” Gotsick said. But everything eventually changes and that time has come for Guitar Works.”
