Iowa State added assistant coach Allan Hanson back in April, and a lot of times we don’t hear about the assistant coaches throughout the season, a trend we should change. Hanson will have many roles within the staff of Iowa State men’s basketball. One thing Hanson is really good at is his player development with guards. Jaquan Johnson is one of the only true point guards on the roster, and has already been under the coaching of Hanson at Bradley last season. His stops at different schools will help to bring even more expertise and principles that can fit in with Otzelberger’s defensive scheme that has worked so well for Iowa State.
