Water supply interruptions across large parts of Durban are set to continue after eThekwini Municipality uncovered additional leaks while carrying out emergency repairs to a major pipeline.
ADVERTISEMENTThe municipality said further sections of the water network had to be isolated to allow repairs to proceed safely, resulting in additional water supply interruptions.
As a result, the South Ridge, Cato Manor and Ridge View reservoirs have now also been affected.
Water supply being managedTo help preserve available water while repairs continue, reservoir levels and demand are being closely monitored.
The city said some water supply outlets may be temporarily closed to allow reservoirs to recover, although water may be released during peak demand periods where storage levels permit.
