Trane, which manufactures heating, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment, donated the 210,640-square-foot office building and 41.5-acre property to the School District of La Crosse last month.
La Crosse School District Superintendent Aaron Engel led a tour of the building and grounds donated by Trane Technologies on Monday, Aug. 3, 2026.
Fields for soccer and lacrosse will also be marked out on the expansive lawns surrounding the office building.
Like many K-12 districts in the state, La Crosse schools have struggled with declining enrollment and corresponding state aid.
There’s just so many spaces for a lot of different things,” said Jill Schams, president of teachers’ union La Crosse Education Association.
