UK wealth managers are increasing their exposure to emerging markets as confidence in the asset class strengthens, according to new research from Franklin Templeton. The survey found that 49% of wealth managers increased their emerging market allocations over the past 12 months, while 60% expect to raise exposure again over the next year. Franklin Templeton Institute global investment strategist Michael Browne said wealth managers were increasingly backing their positive outlook with portfolio changes. The survey also found wealth managers are seeking more country-level research, geopolitical analysis and local market expertise as they increase allocations and look to identify opportunities across individual emerging markets. Franklin Templeton surveyed 118 UK-based wealth managers between 29 April and 31 May 2026.
