Water levels on the Danube are up 9cm from lows on Sunday, and rain is expected in areas of Austria that feed into the river, Prime Minister Péter Magyar said in a post on Facebook early Thursday. Magyar said the last one of eight turbines at the Paks nuclear power plant continued to operate. Output of the Paks NPP, which accounts for about half of domestic electricity generation, has gradually been ramped down as water levels on the Danube, used to cool the plant, reached record lows. To ensure the safe operation of the Paks nuclear power plant, 16 pumps are stationed at the pumping facilities, with a further four in the harbour and 11 held in reserve on the riverbank, officials said.
