The comment comes from a question asked of the company in the Q&A portion of its latest financial report. One investor asked "what impact do you anticipate from the shrinking physical game market in the medium to long term?" and it seems Capcom is not too concerned about the shift to an all-digital future. Capcom is the latest company to respond to Sony's controversial decision, following other publishers like Sega, which noted it believes "a digital shift is crucial" to the longevity of the games industry. The shift to digital is largely detrimental to the end user, however, as various analysts have proven games are almost always cheaper in physical stores.
