Advertisement Advertisement AdvertisementPresident Bola Tinubu has welcomed the rescue of 308 abducted Nigerians in coordinated security operations in Niger and Kwara states, directing security agencies to strengthen early warning mechanisms to prevent future attacks.
The President said the successful operation underscored the growing effectiveness of intelligence-led security efforts and inter-agency collaboration in the fight against kidnapping and terrorism.
According to the Presidency, 163 of those rescued were abducted from Woro Community in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State, while 145 others were rescued after being kidnapped in Niger State.
President Tinubu praised the security agencies for their bravery, professionalism and seamless collaboration, saying the operation demonstrated the increasing capacity of the country’s security architecture.
While celebrating the successful rescue, Mr Tinubu stressed the need to strengthen the country’s security framework to forestall similar incidents.
