The disruptive operation followed information received about alleged illegal mining activities at Hencor Mine.
On arrival, they allegedly found four abandoned excavators and a dump truck.
The four excavators and the dump truck, estimated at R5 million, were seized for further investigation.
The North West Hawks Head, Major General Nombuso Khoza, has commended the team’s efforts in the fight against the scourge of illegal mining.
“These disruptive operations demonstrate the Directorate’s commitment to tackling illegal mining activities, which have a negative impact on community safety,” said Major General Khoza.
