The National Weather Service has extended the Heat Advisory for the Mariposa County foothills and the central San Joaquin Valley, until 8 PM Sunday night. The overnight lows will generally only fall into the mid sixties to mid seventies, with little overnight relief. Such hot temperatures and limited overnight relief may cause heat illnesses. During the Heat Advisory, try to drink plenty of non-alcoholic fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the direct sun, and be sure to check up on relatives and neighbors. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location.
