Credit: WebuildWebuild has signed a €2.7bn ($3.1bn) contract for the delivery of the Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations (PTUS) package, marking a new phase in the construction of Toronto’s Ontario Line. The package will also provide a key interconnection to Line 2 of the Toronto Transit Commission’s subway system, enhancing integration between the new Ontario Line and the existing city network. The contract, awarded by Metrolinx and Infrastructure Ontario, is regarded as one of the most technically complex components of the Ontario Line project due to the urban density and pre-existing infrastructure in the area. The Ontario Line will span 15.6km with a total of 15 stations and more than 40 connections to current transit routes.
