Mattel unveils strong Q2 sales increase

Mattel has unveiled its Q2 financial results, in which Net Sales reached $1.125b, up +10% as reported, and +9% in constant currency, versus the previous year’s second quarter.
The increase in Net Sales as reported was driven by a +12% increase in North America and a +9% increase in international markets.
Worldwide Gross Billings for Dolls were $318m down -5% as reported, primarily due to a decline in Barbie.
Worldwide Gross Billings for Vehicles were $463m, up +14% as reported, primarily driven by growth in Hot Wheels.
Worldwide Gross Billings for Infant, Toddler and Pre-school were $128m, down -11% as reported, primarily due to a decline in Fisher-Price.
