Airbus, Thales to develop SpainSat NG-III for secure satcomms

Airbus Defence and Space has been awarded a contract by Hisdesat, a provider of X and Ka band services, for the development of SpainSat NG-III, which it describes as Europe’s most advanced secure communications satellite.
And Thales Alenia Space in Spain will be leading the UHF and military Ka-band payloads.
According to Airbus, the new version of the satellite introduces technological enhancements along with greater operational agility, and support for expanded bandwidth.
Airbus will develop the SpainSat NG-III satellite in Spain.
