Grimsbury Farm, on the edge of Kingswood, had faced uncertainty after the council warned its previous operating model was no longer financially sustainable, with costs far outstripping income. Councillors on South Gloucestershire Council say they have worked closely with local residents on what they wanted for the site, before inviting organisations to come forward to manage the farm. The Brandon Trust’s successful bid is said to reflect community priorities while making fuller use of the farm’s potential. Alison Evans, a Labour councillor for South Gloucestershire Council and cabinet member for equalities, cost of living and public health, said she was 'thrilled' the farm had been saved and welcomed plans to establish a Friends of Grimsbury Farm group to allow residents to help shape its future.
