In the aftermath of last week’s deadly Kumamoto earthquake in Japan, Nintendo has announced it will be donating 50 million yen to the relief fund effort via the Japanese Red Cross Society. On top of this, the company will be offering free repair services to anyone in the area impacted by the quake until February 1, 2027. The news comes via Nintendo’s official social media channel , where it extended “deepest condolences to all those affected by the Kumamoto Earthquake of Reiwa 8.” Nintendo’s contribution follows support previously offered by The Pokémon Company , which has donated 100 million yen to relief efforts. The Kumamoto earthquake struck southern Japan on July 28, 2026.
