LAHORE – Punjab Food Authority (PFA) sealed two food chain outlets on Motorway after officials found rotten vegetables, expired sauces, and multiple violations of food safety and hygiene standards during a surprise inspection.
During inspection, officials found spoiled vegetables, expired ketchup and sauces, and unhygienic food preparation practices.
The inspection team also identified damaged flooring, accumulated food residue in difficult-to-clean areas, inadequate sanitation, and insufficient water filtration arrangements, raising concerns over public health and food safety.
After inspection, the Punjab Food Authority ordered the immediate sealing of both establishments until all food safety and hygiene deficiencies are rectified.
Reaffirming its zero-tolerance policy toward food safety violations, the PFA warned that strict enforcement actions will continue against restaurants and food businesses that fail to comply with hygiene regulations, adding that public health will not be compromised under any circumstances.
