Schembri explains that, after taking cover, officers had very limited room to move because John Agius was positioned above them.
According to Schembri, he then heard a colleague shout that John Agius had pushed the barrel of his shotgun through a window before firing again.
John Agius, on the other hand, informed investigators that he did not require legal assistance and signed a declaration confirming this.
According to the inspector, Agius gave no warning whatsoever that he was armed or intended to open fire.
10:26: Inspector Gulia tells the court that the construction workers informed the police that John Agius might be armed.
