The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in security and public safety, with discussions centred on institutional collaboration, capacity building and experience sharing between Rwanda and Jordan.
Minister Biruta said Rwanda and Jordan enjoy strong bilateral relations, including in the security sector, and reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation.
Maj Gen Maaitah thanked the Government of Rwanda for the warm hospitality and commended the progress made by Rwanda’s security institutions.
He also welcomed the planned cooperation agreement, saying it will provide a stronger framework for collaboration between the security institutions of Rwanda and Jordan.
The visit builds on the existing cooperation between the Rwanda National Police and Jordan Public Security Directorate, which was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2024 to promote collaboration in policing and public security.
