Cumbria Police will be operating the Road Safety Camera Vans in the east of the county, on the A66 east of Penrith and in Temple Sowerby; in Culgaith and in the Penrith area. Police will also be monitoring drivers' speeds throughout the south of the county, on the A5087 between Barrow and Ulverston, in Barrow itself, Walney and Kirkby in Furness. Cumbria Constabulary deploys Road Safety Camera Vans to accident hotspots to catch and deter speeding. Tackling speeding serves the constabulary's overall aim to eliminate fatalities and serious injuries on the county's roads by 2040. Cumbria is one of the county's working toward the ambition nationally.
