Carlisle city centre hotel to add rooms after former beauty salon conversion

The decision to grant planning permission, subject to conditions, was made on Tuesday (August 4) and, according to the officer’s report, the application site is located within the City Centre Conservation Area.
“The development would not raise any issues in terms of the amenity of the occupiers of neighbouring premises.
The three new roof lights are proposed to the roof facing Cecil Street.
According to the report the site is as part of the building which forms the corner to Warwick Road and Cecil Street.
The report concludes that the proposed works are heritage led with a full understanding of the building and its context.
