The Workington Festival of Running took place in the town on Sunday, August 2 and it was a day of sunshine and positivity, with competitors each having their own personal stories on completing the 5k, 10k, half marathon, and children’s 1k fun run. (Image: NQ)A group of Cumbria police officers took part in the half marathon event, raising funds for Leukaemia Care in honour of a colleague who has been diagnosed with the condition. "It’s been really well organised, nice weather, lots of marshals, friendly staff running it, and just a really good experience." The half marathon was part of her aim to do 15 miles, once a month in 10 different locations around the country, with the half marathon marking her seventh run.
