PC 1837 and PC 2742 of Cumbria Constabulary's Nuclear Estates Team (CCNET) arrested the man, 31, from Preston yesterday after pulling his Vauxhall Astra over on the A595. The driver was initially pulled over by police as his MOT had expired four weeks ago. In a statement, officers of CCNET informed the public that 65 per cent of fatal collisions that occurred in Great Britain in 2023 involved at least one of the Fatal 4. The four factors common in fatal collisions are: speeding, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, not wearing a seatbelt and using a mobile phone whilst driving.
