The Social Democratic Party’s (SDP) presidential candidate for Nigeria’s 2027 election, Prince Adewole Adebayo, has pledged to prioritise the country’s security if elected. Adebayo pledged at the Arewa Awareness Summit on Unity Against Insecurity in Kaduna State, where he engaged stakeholders on strategies to boost the nation’s security. The SDP candidate highlighted the strategic importance of Northern Nigeria, describing it as critical to the future of the country as well as the Sahel and West Africa. Adebayo further emphasised the need to strengthen the education sector, calling for improved access to education for young people, many of whom remain outside the formal system, to better prepare them for national development.
