CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) Mohamed Awad, and Sid Hirdaramani, CEO of Sri Lanka’s Hirdaramani Group, discussed on Thursday the company’s expansion plans in Egypt. Hirdaramani Group, one of the world’s leading garment and textile manufacturers, confirmed its intention to make Egypt a regional base for production and exports, leveraging the country’s competitive advantages. Awad stressed that attracting such global players is central to Egypt’s strategy to boost exports, deepen local manufacturing and integrate into global supply chains. Sid Hirdaramani lauded Egypt’s improving investment climate and incentives, describing the country as a strategic platform for expansion. Both sides agreed to continue coordination to explore new opportunities, reinforcing Egypt’s position as a regional hub for industry and exports, while supporting economic growth, job creation and foreign currency earnings.
