The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission is expanding its Conservation Incentive Program after securing an additional $5 million to help private landowners improve wildlife habitat across the state. The program provides cost-share assistance for habitat improvement projects on private property. Since more than 85 percent of Arkansas is privately owned, AGFC officials say partnerships with landowners are critical to improving wildlife habitat statewide. The Conservation Incentive Program was launched in 2024 with $3.5 million in funding from the Arkansas General Assembly to help private landowners improve wildlife habitat through cost-share assistance.
