The White House is working on a framework to allow people to use THC products for medical uses, and President Donald Trump is reportedly concerned that a ban on hemp-derived THC products that's set to go into effect in November will complicate that effort. During a closed-door Senate Republican lunch Wednesday, several senators clashed with White House liaison James Braid on the issue, according to Axios' sources. Tom Cotton of Arkansas and Pete Ricketts of Nebraska, joined Budd in arguing that the ban needed to go into effect this November. Cotton called hemp-derived THC products "gas-station marijuana candy" that can be easily accessed by children. Braid responded to their arguments with a commitment to not delaying a ban any longer than what's contained in the provision.
