Ahead of a Washington Post article alleging that Defense Secretary Pete Hegeseth clashed with President Donald Trump over a munitions shortage, Trump took to social media to deny the problem. During the meeting at Camp David this week, Trump demanded answers from Hegseth on why he'd been misled to believe that the munitions issue had been fixed, the Post reported, citing unnamed sources. The shortages were, according to the Post's sources, part of the reason Trump pulled back from launching additional assaults against Iran. Before the story was published, Trump posted on Truth Social that the "U.S. has massive amounts of 'munitions.'" Trump also said that those who had leaked the story would be "hunted down," and "long-term jail sentences" would be sought for their "treasonous statements."
