Hunter08/06/26A Cedar Rapids man was arrested Tuesday after reportedly being found with bags of cocaine, and trying to swallow them to destroy evidence. The Gazette reports 42-year-old William Rutledge was observed sleeping in a parked vehicle on the 800 block of Shaver Road NE. He was allegedly holding bags of packaged narcotics, and began eating the bags when officers asked him to exit the vehicle. Officers grabbed Rutledge, who reportedly pulled away and tried to get into the back seat to consumer more of the drugs. where he allegedly again tried to eat the drugs.
