The initiative is aimed at strengthening sustainable waste management, promoting small hydropower development and advancing circular economy practices across the state. According to him, the initiative will provide a practical framework for the proper management of used renewable energy equipment while creating opportunities to convert waste into valuable economic resources. “This implementation plan is an essential milestone in ensuring efficient waste management and transforming waste into wealth. Umana added that the project would also promote resource recovery, create green jobs, strengthen environmental governance and contribute to Nigeria’s climate change mitigation efforts through responsible waste management practices. Participants at the workshop include representatives of relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), development partners, environmental professionals, private sector operators, civil society organisations and other stakeholders committed to sustainable environmental management.
