WORTHINGTON — The Worthington Planning Commission approved a conditional use permit request for Gleeson Constructors and Engineers on behalf of Swift and Company (JBS), to add a 19,000-square-foot barn and carbon dioxide stun to the east side of the JBS plant located at 1700 Minnesota 60, Worthington. ADVERTISEMENTCommissioner Chris Kielblock asked the JBS representatives in the audience if they plan to maintain road access around the complete facility for “emergency access.” The parcel is 3.5 acres in size and would use access easements to maintain access for the new parcel, truck wash, repair center and gas station. Stickler will continue presenting updates at the next planning commission meeting Sept. 1. Each approved request from the planning commission will go to the Worthington City Council for final consideration on Monday, Aug. 10.
