The proposals relate to 97-101 Dalton Road, formerly occupied by Sports Direct and more recently by furniture store Lazy Days. The application includes replacing the existing shopfront with new aluminium framed glazing and entrance doors, and creating a separate entrance for first floor offices. Sports Direct vacated the site in early 2023 after more than a decade of trading there. The unit in Barrow's town centre went on the market earlier this year, priced at £220,000. The estate agent, Ross Estate Agencies, had said the landlord was also offering incentives to anyone wanting to take on a long-term lease.
