Papa John's Pizza also said that the franchisee owner of their Duke Street store had "implemented corrective measures" and a reinspection by officers from Ipswich Borough Council's environmental health officers. On Thursday, July 2, officers from the council judged the food hygiene standard at Duke Street store, near the Ipswich Waterfront a two-star rating or "improvement necessary". The store received a "good" grade for its management of food safety but received "improvement necessary" in the other two categories, hygienic food handling, cleanliness and condition of facilities and building. A spokesperson for Papa Johns said: "We take food safety extremely seriously. Whilst inspections are centred around food hygiene on the day, it is possible to loose marks for poor record keeping such as fridge temperatures or having incorrect paper work.
