According to Dr. Usengumukiza, Rwanda chose unity, accountability and “thinking big” in its reconstruction process.
In his address, Dr. Usengumukiza expressed the joy of the Rwandan government to host the first ever SIGNIS conference in Africa.
“In an era where the digital landscape can sometimes divide us or distract us from the beauty of creation, your role as Catholic communicators has never been more critical,” Dr. Usengumukiza said.
“You are modern-day apostles of the digital age,” the Rwandan government official told the hundreds of Catholic communicators who gathered at the conference’s opening ceremony on August 4.
Dr. Usengumukiza presented Rwanda as a good example of how storytelling can either build or destroy a community.
