After hours of negotiations to avoid walkouts by SAS cabin crew that threatened to cancel flights in Norway, unions say a deal has been agreed to avert travel disruption on Saturday. Strike action by SAS cabin crew members scheduled for Saturday morning has been averted after unions reached an agreement with Norwegian aviation authorities. A total of 468 SAS cabin crew members were therefore set for strike action from 4am on Saturday, 8th August, if mediation talks failed to find a solution acceptable to all parties. A majority of members rejected the recommended proposal, meaning Fellesforbundet has issued the notice of industrial action for all of the union’s members covered by the SAS Cabin Crew Agreement.
