Kerala is expected to receive light to moderate rainfall over the coming days, with isolated places likely to experience very heavy rain on August 6. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for seven districts in Kerala on Thursday (August 6), warning of isolated very heavy rainfall across parts of the state. A yellow alert has also been issued for Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad, indicating the possibility of isolated heavy rainfall. According to the IMD, isolated places are likely to receive very heavy rainfall on Thursday. The department classifies heavy rainfall as 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm of rain within 24 hours, while very heavy rainfall refers to 115.6 mm to 204.4 mm in the same period.
