A complaint has been lodged stating that the body, transported from Pariyaram Medical College to Thiruvananthapuram, was dispatched without being embalmed and without adequate freezer facilities.
Ambulance drivers Muhammed Niyas and Muhammed Tanveer revealed the alleged negligence.
Muhammed Niyas stated that since the cause of death was drowning, the body was already bloated, making embalming or the use of a freezer essential in such circumstances.
Fearing that the mortal remains might decompose after being carried in an ambulance lacking freezer facilities, the drivers transferred the body to another vehicle at Chavakkad.
With the assistance of other ambulance drivers stationed outside Hayat Hospital in Chavakkad, the body was subsequently transported to Thiruvananthapuram in a vehicle equipped with a freezer.
