Leon Gladdis, of Nelson Road in Newport, appeared before Portsmouth Magistrates' Court on Monday, July 20. The 29-year-old has previously denied charges of wounding or inflicting grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent and assault by beating. The court heard he is accused of smashing a beer glass over a man's head at The Veteran pub on Ryde Esplanade. The case had originally been due to go to trial in March but was delayed and is now listed for trial on January 25, 2027.
