Kim Saer, known as the Wellington Womble, reached the milestone on August 2. "I went up Dinmore Hill early this morning and picked my 1,000th bag of litter off the A49," said Mrs Saer. "I had noticed how littered the A49 was and thought I could do something about it," said Mrs Saer. She recently found £10 during one of her litter picks, which she jokingly referred to as her "Womble wages". Mrs Saer has collected everything from household waste to 'liquified human excrement' during her work.
