The court heard the 43-year-old, who had previously been banned from the roads, had been driving a BMW 520 in Hereford's Whitecross Road on May 26 when he caused a crash involving a BMW X2 and a Mercedes Sprinter. Pavlovs fled the scene, leaving his BMW in a dangerous position in the busy city street, Hereford magistrates heard. Tests revealed he had 101 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath—nearly three times the legal limit of 35. Pavlovs, of Whitecross Road, Hereford, was handed a six-month prison sentence, suspended for 18 months. He was further banned from driving for four years and was ordered to pay £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.
