Rana, the husband of Dam Karlakhunta Sarpanch Snigdha Rana, was stabbed to death by unidentified assailants on Wednesday evening near the panchayat office under Madanpur Rampur police limits. As he was leaving the premises, a group of miscreants ambushed him and stabbed him repeatedly with knives before fleeing the scene. Local residents rescued the critically injured Rana and rushed him to the Madanpur Rampur Community Health Centre, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
