Koraput: Two students were injured after the main gate of a government school collapsed on them while they were entering the campus in Odisha’s Koraput district Thursday, police said. The incident took place at Kaladi Project Upper Primary School under Kasandi panchayat in Nandapur block. The injured students have been identified as Deepak Majhi (7) and Kamesh Khil (8), they said. Villagers and school authorities rushed to the spot, rescued the children from beneath the debris and shifted them to the Nandapur Community Health Centre for treatment, police said. School authorities said the entrance gate had weakened over time and collapsed unexpectedly due to rains.
